In 2009, after listening to requests from examination candidates and their teachers, The Victoria College decided to expand their repertoire of examination possibilities by introducing the Music Theatre examination syllabus.

As more and more classical singers considered the possibility of branching out into music theatre and similarly as actors from the speech and drama syllabus considered the possibility of also branching out into music theatre, it became clear that a tutor book was necessary in order to give clear advice to any interested parties.

The Music Theatre Tutor Books are a graded series of books specifically written to help students and teachers prepare for the Victoria College Music Theatre Examinations. In each book a selection of suggested songs on the syllabus are shown which give suggestions on correct singing, acting, movement and dance, costume, props and staging.

The book is accompanied by a CD which gives demonstrations of the songs included in the book.

The Tutor Book is written by Claire Pashley, the Music Theatre Consultant for the Victoria College Examinations.
