The Tutor Book Series is an exciting advance in the teaching of piano playing which integrates musical awareness, creativity and technical development from the outset. Travelling through lesson plans teachers and pupils work together on an attractive selection of scales, new tunes (written or arranged by Claire Pashley) that help improve playing competence and confidence. Written Theory exercises are also included which are specifically designed for piano players. Activities are designed to make learning fun with motivational tick charts included at the end of each lesson. A page is also included for teacher and pupils to write in their own comments.

The book includes a demonstration CD playing examples and pieces from the book.

There are two types of tutor books in the series. The Piano Guru books are specifically designed for learners who are not interested in the Victoria College examination system and the Victoria College graded tutor books are specifically designed to link in with the Victoria College examinations in  Contemporary Piano Playing.
